Crecimiento de la producción científica en una revista de comunicación

English abstract

An analysis of the growth of the literature published by Contratexto journal, a communication journal published by the Universidad de Lima (Peru), from its first publication in 1985 to December 2023 is presented. It seeks to determine the form of growth that best fits the data observed in the journal and the genre of authorship. Mathematical modeling is used through non-linear regression analysis to understand the behavior of the data and its future projection. For the collection and organization of the data, the EndNote 9.0 bibliographic manager was used; then, the necessary data was selected and exported to an Excel spreadsheet to be subsequently read and executed with the R Project's readxl, nls2, and proto packages. The results show a better fit to a polynomial regression model for growth of the journal and the contributions of male authors. In the case of female authors, the exponential regression model shows a better adjustment to these contributions to the journal.

Se presenta un análisis del crecimiento de la literatura publicada por la revista Contratexto, especializada en comunicación y editada por la Universidad de Lima (Perú), desde su aparición en 1985 hasta diciembre de 2023. Se busca determinar la forma de crecimiento que mejor se ajusta a los datos observados en la revista, así como a los artículos producidos y publicados por hombres y mujeres en ella. Se utiliza la modelación matemática a través del análisis de regresión no-lineal para entender el comportamiento de los datos y su proyección futura. Para la recolección y organización de los datos se utilizó el gestor bibliográfico EndNote 9.0; luego, se seleccionaron y exportaron los datos necesarios a una hoja de cálculo de Excel para ser leído y ejecutado posteriormente con los paquetes readxl, nls2, y proto del Proyecto R. Los resultados muestran un mejor ajuste a un modelo de regresión polinomial para el crecimiento de la revista y de las contribuciones de autores masculinos; en el caso de las autoras femeninas el modelo de regresión exponencial muestra un mejor ajuste a estas contribuciones a la revista.
