English abstract
The access to information is a requirement and a basic right to people can exercise their citizenship and being inserted in the information and knowledge society. And it is precisely the perspective that the librarian gets in scene as agent of the digital inclusion and of the democratization of the access to information and being a promoter of social changes, through the dissemination, treating and organization available information, and using as instruments the social networks. In this context, the librarian has a strong instrument of diffusion of information and the interacting with his users, generating a direct approach among the information user, the librarian and the information unities, which extends itself in the social networks, promoting the citizenship. This way, it has as objectives appoint the role of the librarian as mediator of information in social movements and also he’s role in democratizing information through the social networks. It used as method the bibliographical research. Concludes that the librarian, as professional of information have to act in the social movements democratizing information and mediating information to his information users.

O acesso à informação é o requisito e direito básico para que as pessoas possam exercer sua cidadania e estarem inseridas na dita sociedade da informação e do conhecimento. E é justamente nesta perspectiva que o bibliotecário entra em cena como agente da inclusão digital e da democratização do acesso à informação e como promotor de mudanças sociais, através da disseminação, tratamento e organização da informação disponível e usando como ferramentas novas tecnologias, como as redes sociais. Nesse contexto o bibliotecário tem uma forte ferramenta de difusão da informação e de interação com os usuários, gerando uma aproximação direta entre usuário, bibliotecário e unidade de informação que se estende nas redes, promovendo a cidadania. Portanto este artigo objetiva apontar o papel do bibliotecário como mediador de informação em manifestações sociais e o também o seu papel na democratização da informação através das redes sociais. Utilizou-se como método a pesquisa bibliográfica. Conclui que o bibliotecário, como profissional da informação por excelência deve atuar, nos movimentos sociais, como promotor da democratização da informação e mediador da informação com os seus usuários.
