English abstract
Open Access discussion uses the concept of a 'Tipping Point'. This article questions what this might mean and what role commercial publishers may play in the tipping. Are they passive or active? Also, some speculation on the types of commercial publishing which will be attractive in the STM arena after the Tipping Point is reached.
