English abstract
The new building of the General Library of the University of Alicante (Spain) has started with the beginning of course 1997-1998. It occupies a surface of 14,500 square meters and is located in a central place of the area of expansion of the University.

El nuevo edificio de la Biblioteca General de la Universidad de Alicante ha entrado en funcionamiento con el inicio del curso 1997-1998. Ocupa una superficie de 14.500 metros cuadrados y está situado en un lugar central del área de expansión del campus universitario.
