English abstract

The singularity and independence of Archival Science within the Information Sciences makes it necessary to clarify fundamental concepts and definitions, considering the legal and administrative tradition and the history of a Science which is shown to be vital for the Democracy and the Constitutional State.

Spanish abstract

La singularidad e independencia de la Archivística dentro de las Ciencias de la Documentación e Información hace necesario clarificar los conceptos fundamentales y las definiciones, haciéndose sobre la base de la tradición jurídico-administrativa y a la historia de la doctrina, en una ciencia que se demuestra que es base imprescindible de la Democracia y del Estado de Derecho.
