The article presents the Municipalidades law and how the Public Library of Lima was built, its history and the services that offers.

En la ley de Municipalidades se afirma que “Las Municipalidades deben crear, organizar y mantener bibliotecas municipales y casas de cultura”. A través de este articulo los bibliotecólogos podemos conocer la Ley en cuestión. Asimismo, nos informa de cómo se originó la Biblioteca Municipal de Lima, su historia y los servicios que ofrece.
