English abstract

The aim of the annual conference and course Libraries in the Digital Age (LIDA), which started in 2000, is to address the changing and challenging environment for libraries and information systems and services in the digital world, with an emphasis on current problems, advances and solutions. Each year a different "hot" theme is addressed, divided in two parts: the first part covers research and development and the second addresses advances in applications and practice. LIDA seeks to bring together researchers, practitioners, and developers in a forum for personal exchanges, discussions, and learning, enhanced by being held in memorable locations. LIDA is organized by Faculty of philosophy, University of J. J. Strossmeyer in Osijek, Croatia and Rutgers University, USA. Five times it has been held at Inter University Centre in the city of Dubrovnik and on nearby island of Mljet, Croatia. This year's Co-organizing University is Loughborough University, Great Britain (represented by professor Paul Sturges, PhD. ).
