English abstract

The first part brings the review of theory and practices of private information business in the developed countries with the special point on the differences between American and European environment. The second part describes the organization methods and marketing for the first private information service in Croatia. It brings relevant theoretical way and positive practices, research of user needs and permanent education, planning and organizing services. The years-long experience has shown that the main customers are Croatian libraries. Statistics has shown that the offer includes cataloging, permanent education and consulting. Brings the statistical analyses of services and users.

Croatian abstract

U prvom dijelu rada donosi se pregled teorije i prakse privatnog informacijskog posredništva u razvijenim zemljama s posebnim naglaskom na razlike izmedu američkog i europskog okruženja. U drugom se dijelu rada opisuju metode organizacije i marketinga knjižničarskih usluga prvoga samostalnog knjižničara u Hrvatskoj. Polazi se od usvajanja relevantnih teorijskih postavki i pozitivne prakse, te se preko početnog istraživanja potreba korisnika za informacijama i naobrazbom iz područja knjižničarstva u Hrvatskoj prikazuje planiranje, organiziranje i marketing usluga. Posebna je briga pri planiranju posvećena vlastitoj izobrazbi, stalnom unapređivanju vlastite tehnologije (hardver i softver) i donošenju poslovnih odluka. Višegodišnje iskustvo pokazalo je da su hrvatske knjižnice glavni korisnici usluga, dok je statistika pozitivno riješenih zahtjeva pokazala kako ponuda obuhvaća najčešće stručne knjižničarske poslove obradbe građe, permanentnu izobrazbu knjižničara i savjetničke poslove. Donosi se statistička analiza usluga i korisnika.
