English abstract

The accelerated development of the new medical technologies and of the info and communication technologies presents formidable challenges to the health sector and a moral challenge, too. The experience of Infomed as regards the knowledge management in the health field in Cuba is presented, in particular, starting from its two basic projects: the library and the virtual health university.

Spanish abstract

El desarrollo acelerado tanto de las nuevas tecnologías médicas como de las teecnologías de información y comunicación plantean formidables retos al sector de la salud y un reto moral. Se presenta la experiencia de Infomed en materia de gestión del conocimiento en salud en Cuba, en particular, a partir de sus dos proyectos básicos: la biblioteca y la universidad virtual de salud.
