English abstract
Scientific literature is growing unattainable for any medical professional who wants to be up to date with developments in their field. Access to the more than four hundred thousand biomedical articles that are published annually in the world, with chapters in papers or dissertations, it is an impossible task without the help of computer technology. Subscriptions to magazines prestigious interrogation to bibliographic databases, or revision of bulletins summary prepared by libraries and documentation centers are some systems used by professionals that try to keep abreast.

Resulta ya casi un tópico decir que la literatura científica crece a un ritmo inalcanzable para cualquier profesional médico que quiera estar constantemente al día de los avances de su especialidad. Acceder a los más de cuatrocientos mil artículos biomédicos que se publican anualmente en el mundo, a capítulos de monografías, o a tesis doctorales, es una tarea imposible sin la ayuda de la tecnología informática. Suscripciones a revistas especializadas de prestigio, interrogación a bases de datos bibliográficas, o la revisión de boletines de sumarios preparados por bibliotecas y centros de documentación son algunos sistemas empleados por los profesionales para ese intentar estar al día.
