Abstract(s)
A definition of free software and the different concepts which may be confused with free software and open sources software is made. They stand out the advantages of the use of free software and the open formats in the Public Administration, and they are enunciated some of the successful initiatives in the scope of the European Union, Spain, even in the regional and local scopes. Finally the existing open formats are analyzed and the characteristics of the Open Document format are specified, which has been approved as a ISO Standard in may of 2006.
Se realiza una definición de software libre y los diferentes conceptos que pueden llegar a confundirse con software libre y de fuentes abiertas. Se destacan las ventajas de la utilización de software libre y de los formatos abiertos en la Administración Pública y se enuncian algunas iniciativas de éxito en el ámbito de la Unión Europea, España, e incluso regional y local. Finalmente se analizan los formatos abiertos existentes y se especifican las características del formato Open Document, que ha sido aprobado como norma ISO en mayo de 2006.
