English abstract

The UK JISC Information Environment Service Registry (IESR), with a metadata description profile that is also used by the US OCKHAM Digital Library Services Registry, publicizes collections of resources along with details of how to access them in a machine-readable format, aiming to assist applications such as portals to serve their users' interests. The presentation will describe the content of IESR, some possible uses, and its position within the wider information environment sharing resource descriptions based on NISO Metasearch recommendations.
