English abstract

Emulation is a strategy of preserving digital objects. This technique is based on the use of contemporary software for the creation of a technical environment that is required in order to use older digital objects, softwares and applications. Migration is the process of data transfer from a platform that there is danger of been exceeded, in a modern platform. The process of migration lurks dangers and high cost.

Η εξομοίωση (emulation) είναι μια στρατηγική διατήρησης ψηφιακών αντικειμένων. Σύμφωνα μ' αυτήν την τεχνική αναδημιουργείται σε σύγχρονο λογισμικό το τεχνικό περιβάλλον που απαιτείται για να χρησιμοποιήσουμε παλαιά ψηφιακά αντικείμενα, λογισμικά και εφαρμογές. Η μετανάστευση (migration) είναι η διαδικασία της μεταφοράς των δεδομένων από μια πλατφόρμα που υπάρχει κίνδυνος να ξεπεραστεί, σε μια σύγχρονη πλατφόρμα. Η διαδικασία αυτή έχει και κινδύνους και κόστος.
