Abstract(s)

Target population estimate. Indicator B.1.1.1 - User satisfaction. Describes the statistical methodology of the University of Trento library's continuing project to apply ISO 11620 standards, both for estimating the library's target population, and for determining user satisfaction levels (performance indicator B.1.1.1) among students, professors, researchers, technical and administrative staff, and others. Explains the mathematical formulae for assessing target population figures and illustrates the user-questionnaire format. Early findings show user satisfaction with indicators such as collection resources, staff competence/helpfulness, and usability of catalogues and terminals. But there were too few Internet and CD-ROM terminals, and book copies.

L'articolo descrive l'esperienza di applicazione sperimentale di un set di indicatori selezionati dallo standard ISO 11620 - Library performance indicators. In particolare la descrizione si sofferma sul problema della determinazione della numerosità dell'utenza potenziale per le biblioteche universitarie aperte anche al pubblico esterno e all'indicatore B.1.1.1 che determina la soddisfazione dell'utenza. Viene descritta la metodologia per la redazione del questionario di rilevazione, riportato in appendice.
