English abstract

In a period of rapid evolutions, new technologies and the digital environment inevitably affect the publishing area. The traditional printed publishing with whatever this means (publishers, printers, proof-readers, authors,…………), passes to another phase, which is known as electronic publishing. Some things radically change while some others are transubstantiated to something different. Various electronic publishing systems are developed in diverse communities (academic, journalistic, researching, literary, etc.) and in parallel ways with printed publishing. The particular article deals with a case study of an electronic publishing system, which concerns the development of a project in the Scandinavian Academic Community called «The DiVA Project». This project was accomplished in the Center of Electronic Publishing that consists a part of the Library of Uppsala University in Sweden.

Σε μία εποχή ραγδαίων εξελίξεων, οι νέες τεχνολογίες και το ψηφιακό περιβάλλον επιδρούν αναπόφευκτα και στο χώρο της δημοσίευσης. Η παραδοσιακή έντυπη δημοσίευση, με ό,τι αυτό συνεπάγεται (εκδότης, τυπογράφος, διορθωτής, συγγραφέας,………..), περνάει σε μία άλλη διαφορετική φάση, αυτή της ηλεκτρονικής δημοσίευσης. Κάποια πράγματα αλλάζουν ριζικά ενώ κάποια άλλα μετουσιώνονται σε κάτι διαφορετικό. Αναπτύσσονται ποικίλα ηλεκτρονικά συστήματα δημοσίευσης σε διάφορες κοινότητες (ακαδημαϊκές, δημοσιογραφικές, ερευνητικές, λογοτεχνικές, κ.ά.) σε παράλληλους δρόμους με την έντυπη δημοσίευση. Η συγκεκριμένη εργασία αναφέρεται σε μία περίπτωση ηλεκτρονικής δημοσίευσης, η οποία αφορά την ανάπτυξη ενός προγράμματος στη Σκανδιναβική Ακαδημαϊκή Κοινότητα, ονομαζόμενο ως «The DiVA Project» και πραγματοποιήθηκε από το Κέντρο Ηλεκτρονικής Δημοσίευσης της Βιβλιοθήκης του Πανεπιστημίου της Ουψάλα στη Σουηδία.
