English abstract

Generally epistemology is the branch of philosophy that's studies knowledge. It attempts to answer the basic question about knowledge and its creation, source, use, borders etc. Library and information science is working about knowledge too. Relationship between two area comes from not only concept of knowledge but also as a social source, each area try to maksimize social use of knowledge. In our study we try to explain relationship between too area with different ways in part one. In part two we try to explain knowledge theory and information ser vices in economical and social changing proses. We will estimate impact of all of the changing process to knowledge theory and relationship with library and information services.

Turkish abstract

Epistemoloji felsefenin bir dalı olarak bilgi üzerine çalışmaktadır. Epistemoloji bilginin ortaya çıkışı, doğası, kaynağı ve sınırları gibi temel sorulara yanıt arar. Kütüphane ve bilgi bilimleri de bilgi üzerine çalışmaktadır. Her iki alan arasındaki ilişki sadece bilgi üzerine çalışmalarından değil, aynı zamanda bilginin sosyal kullanımını maksimum düzeye ulaştırma amacından da kaynaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde iki alan arasındaki ilişki çeşitli yönleriyle ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, bilgi hizmetleri ve bilgi teorisinin, ekonomik ve toplumsal değişim sürecinde nasıl şekillendiği anlatılacaktır. Tüm bu değişimlerin bilgi teorisine ve ilişkili olarak kütüphane ve bilgi hizmetlerine etkisi değerlendirilecektir.
