English abstract

This paper reports the current state of the project „Das Buch und sein Haus“. The extensive private photo collection which emerged through the years on excursions of Engelbert Plassmann shows pictures of the architecture-photographer Christoph Seelbach. The origin, the construction as well as the digitization and finally the presentation of the pictures on the Web are in the focus of this article. In vivid pictures, this free-accessible presentation documents all important eras of library building in central Europe that occurred during the last centuries; from the late Middle Ages to the presence. http://www.bibliotheksbauten.de

Der Beitrag berichtet über den aktuellen Stand des Projekts „Das Buch und sein Haus“. Die umfangreiche private Diasammlung, die über Jahre auf Exkursionen von Engelbert Plassmann entstanden ist, zeigt Bilder von dem Architektur-Fotografen Christoph Seelbach. Die Entstehung, der inhaltliche Aufbau sowie die Digitalisierung und letztendlich die Präsentation der Bilder im Web stehen im Mittelpunkt dieses Artikels. In der frei zugänglichen Präsentation werden die wichtigen Epochen des Bibliotheksbaus in Mitteleuropa in den letzten Jahrhunderten, d.h. vom späten Mittelalter bis zur Gegenwart, in anschaulichen Bildern dokumentiert. http://www.bibliotheksbauten.de
