English abstract

In this document three initiatives are illustrated about "humanizing" health, developed at Centro di Riferimento Oncologico di Aviano (Pordenone, Italy), one of the seven Italian oncological IRCCS: the Patient library, Art as therapeutical support, Reception through voluntary service. Moreover a project is presented, which is still in a development stage: it's the “Italian Oncological database of information resources for patients”.

In questo elaborato vengono esposte tre iniziative di “umanizzazione” sviluppatesi al Centro di Riferimento Oncologico di Aviano (PN), uno dei sette IRCCS oncologici italiani: la Biblioteca per i Pazienti, l’Arte come supporto terapeutico, l’Accoglienza con il volontariato. Sono iniziative dotate di una specifica identità ma non separate. Si tratta di progetti realizzati, nati in momenti e afferenti ad aree diverse, non pensati a priori secondo un organico progetto d’insieme. Tutte e tre le iniziative però hanno trovato la loro cornice nel “Piano di Umanizzazione dell’Istituto” voluto dalla Direzione nel 1997 che ha dato loro dignità e impulso o addirittura ne ha favorito l’avvio. In quel contesto esse hanno saputo trovare una “unione nelle cose”, coltivare momenti comuni, sviluppare una sinergia che ha permesso di superare i momenti difficili per ciascuna di esse e costruire insieme un circuito “virtuoso” della comunicazione e dell’informazione inimmaginabile a priori. In questo elaborato vengono evidenziate luci ed ombre delle singole iniziative e del quadro d’insieme; viene dato inoltre un particolare risalto a un progetto in fase di realizzazione, “figlio” di una delle tre. Si tratta della “Banca dati oncologica italiana di risorse informative per i pazienti”, nato come sotto-obiettivo della Biblioteca Pazienti, poi divenuto autonomo ma bisognoso di supporto finanziario per poter vedere effettivamente la luce.
