English abstract
This work is based on the concept of “public sphere” proposed by Jürgen Habermas, in order to promote the understanding of blogs as potential tools for the creation and maintenance of an online public sphere. It verifies if the blog Bibliotecários Sem Fronteiras can be considered an online public sphere with focus on Library and Information Science, given its description and social norms applied.

Esta monografia parte do conceito de “esfera pública” conforme Jürgen Habermas, para promover o entendimento dos blogs como ferramentas potenciais para a criação e manutenção de uma esfera pública online. Verifica se o blog Bibliotecários Sem Fronteiras pode ser considerado uma esfera pública online com temática em Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação, partindo de sua descrição e o detalhamento das normas sociais que se aplicam a ele.
