English abstract

In the past few year the subject of electronic libraries occupies the librarians more and more. The rapid developments in the field of new technology enforce to the libraries the adaptation of their services into this new environment. In spite of these, the progress of electronic libraries remain uncertain.

Τα τελευταία χρόνια το θέμα των ηλεκτρονικών βιβλιοθηκών απασχολεί τη βιβλιοθηκονομική κοινότητα όλο και περισσότερο. Οι ραγδαίες εξελίξεις στον τομέα της νέας τεχνολογίας επέβαλαν στις βιβλιοθήκες την προσαρμογή των λειτουργιών και υπηρεσιών τους σ' αυτό το νέο περιβάλλον. Παρ' όλα αυτά η πορεία εξέλιξης των ηλεκτρονικών βιβλιοθηκών παραμένει αβέβαιη.
