English abstract

This paper is a proposal for the deployment of a highly cherished tool in academic libraries: an easy to keep up-to-date union catalog for scientific journal collections. Since the presentation of this paper, the catalog has been successfully rendering services at http://carpc.uns.edu.ar and has involved the partial collections of journals of 17 contributing libraries. The catalog, in this new version, includes links to the Electronic Library of SECYT, thus providing connection to the full text versions of some titles.

Este trabajo trae una propuesta de instrumentación de una herramienta muy apreciada por las bibliotecas académicas: un catálogo colectivo de publicaciones periódicas, fácil de mantener actualizado Desde la presentación de este trabajo el catálogo ha estado prestando servicios en http://carpc.uns.edu.ar y ha involucrado las colecciones parciales de revistas científicas de 17 bibliotecas. En su nueva versión, el catálogo incluye los enlaces a las colecciones de texto completo de la Biblioteca Electrónica de la SECYT
