English abstract
The popularization of the Internet as the greater, better and faster mass media created by the mankind has produced changes in all the levels of the daily life of the people who have access to it. One of the economic sectors based on the Internet that has received a greater impact has been the cultural one, and particularly the audio-visual sector. The contents digitization has allowed a better access to the culture that has not equivalent in all the history of the Humanity. In spite of this the book sector and the publishing have remained apparently immune to this vortex. Although the changes have been very slow in comparison to other cultural areas, they are taking place. When Google announced that was developing a project to digitize a million books copyright-free in collaboration with different North American universities an "earthquake" happened in the publishers sector. On the other hand, publishers market their books via the Internet also foster the digitization of contents as a resource to harness their sales. In view of this, with the arrival of Web 2.0 and Library 2.0, the information professionals cannot remain anchored in a past based on atoms. Now the information flows as bits and thus will do in the future. To understand the new world in which we are staying is completely capital for librarians.

La popularizacion de la Red de redes como el mayor, mejor y más rápido medio de comunicación creado por el Hombre ha creado cambios en todos los niveles de la vida diaria de aquellos que tienen acceso a ella. Uno de los sectores económicos sobre el que Internet ha tenido mayor impacto ha sido el sector cultural y particularmente el audiovisual. La digitalización de contenidos ha permitido un mayor acceso a la cultura que no ha tenido parangón en toda la historia de la Humanidad, sin embargo el sector del libro y el editorial ha permanecido aparentemente inmune a esta vorágine. Pero los cambios, aunque muy lentos en comparación con otros ámbitos culturales, se están produciendo a marchas forzadas. La entrada en juego de la empresa Google supuso todo un terremoto en cuanto anunció su proyecto de digitalizar millones de obras que se encontraban exentas de derechos de autor en colaboración con distintas universidades norteamericanas; mientras que, por otro lado, empresas dedicadas a la comercialización de libros vía Internet también están impulsando la digitalización de contenidos como un recurso para potenciar sus ventas. Ante esto, el advenimiento de la Web 2.0 y de la denominada Biblioteca 2.0, los profesionales de la información no pueden permanecer anclados en un pasado basado en los átomos. La información fluye actualmente en bits y será como lo haga en el futuro. Entender el mundo en el que estamos entrando es completamente capital para bibliotecarios y documentalistas. ____________________________________
