Abstract

El presente artículo, tiene como objetivo hacer un recorrido que va desde el concepto de sociedad de la información hasta la tendencia propuesta por la W3C en cabeza de su director, el cual propone la creación de una Web Semántica; que potencie las funcionalidades de la ya existente a favor de las necesidades del hombre, esto con ayuda de herramientas como los metadatos, el XML (eXtensible Markup Language) o el RDF (Resource Description Framework).

The goal of the present article is to show a text that begins from the concept of information society and ends in the W3C project called Semantic Web. The Semantic Web is an international initiative that tries to improve the functionalities of the existing one in favor of the information needs of the web users. To perform this, the initiative propose the use of tools like metadata, XML (Extensible Markup Language) or RDF (Resource Description Framework).
