English abstract

The participation of the archivists in electronic records management is determined by two factors: first their strategic location within the organization and second their capacity to adapt the archival methods and tools to the digital world. This article deals with the second of those factors by focusing on how the three basic archival processes (classification and description, appraisal and long-term preservation) should evolve to be effectively incorporated to the electronic records management environment.

La participació dels arxivers en la gestió dels documents electrònics ha estat determinada per dos factors: primer la seva localització estratègica dins de la organització i segon la seva capacitat per adaptar els mètodes arxivístics i les eines pel món digital. Aquest article presenta el segon d'aquests factors centrant-se en com els tres processos arxívístics bàsics (classificació i descripció, avaluació i preservació a llarg termini) han de desenvolupar-se per ser incorporats de forma eficaç en l'entorn de la gestió dels documents electrònics.
