Abstract
Se sitúa a la biblioteca universitaria en una organización cuyos insumos, procesos y resultados se relacionan con el conocimiento. En este contexto se discute cual debiera ser el rol presente y futuro de las bibliotecas universitarias frente a la gestión del conocimiento. El camino elegido es a partir de un modelo sistémico ejemplificar con líneas estratégicas de acción, planes y programas ya probados en bibliotecas universitarias. Se analizan indicadores de procesos, resultados e impacto para medir la Gestión del Conocimiento. En este sentido se aborda una visión pragmática por oposición al tratamiento del tema desde las definiciones. Finalmente se presenta el Atlas de la Ciencia como una interfaz que mediante el analisis de información bibliométrica es capaz de objetivizar el desempeño de comunidades que hacen gestión del conocimiento.

It places to the university library in an organization which inputs, processes and results relate to the knowledge. In this context there is discussed which must be the present and future role of the university libraries opposite to the management of the knowledge. The chosen way is from a systemic model to exemplify with strategic lines of action, plans and programs already proved in university libraries. There are analyzed indicators of processes, results and impact to measure the Management of the Knowledge. In this sense a pragmatic vision is approached by opposition to the treatment of the topic from the definitions. Finally it presents the Atlas of the Science as one interface that by means of the analysis of bibliometric information is capable to show the performance of communities that do knowledge management.
