Abstract

Partindo da missão da biblioteca escolar, cujos princípios são consagrados no respectivo Manifesto da UNESCO, pretendemos disponibilizar aos gestores da sua informação instrumentos atinentes à classificação e à indexação.
A eficiência destas propostas aliada à crescente utilização e amplo contributo das tecnologias da informação permitirão um rápido acesso ao conhecimento, por parte da comunidade escolar, discente e docente, em especial, que estas unidades encerram.
Consciente de que as bibliotecas escolares têm um papel preponderante no apoio ao processo educativo, torna-se, pois, imprescindível a sua acção organizativa, fulcral na prestação de serviços que visam a excelência.

Bearing in mind the school library’s mission, whose principles are consecrated in the UNESCO Manifest, we aim to provide those who manage information, instruments pertaining to classification and indexation.
The efficiency of these proposals, associated to a growing utilization and contribution of the information technologies wil allow schools, teachers and students, to achieve a fast access to knowledge.
Conscious that school libraries have an important role in supporting the educational process, their organizational action becames, therefore, vital in order to attain services which forsee excellence.
