Abstract

Information technology is being more sophisticated. As the one of information worker, it is logically accepted that librarians make the information technology much more useful in their daily activities. If the librarians do, the application of automation system at libraries in Indonesia would not as slow as what occurred nowadays. There are six factors should be considered, i.e. the librarians attitude, the librarians capability, library application program engineering, the librarians’ credit point rules, the curriculum of librarianship education, and profession organization.

Teknologi Informasi saat ini semakin canggih. Sebagai salah satu pekerja informasi, sudah seharusnya pustakawan menerima pererapan IT, karena dapat membantu tugas keseharian mereka. Ada enam faktor yang menghambat pemgembanahn TI di kalangan pustakawan : (1) Sikap pustakawan, (2) Kemampuan pustakawan (3)reancangan program aplikasi,(4) peraturan angka kredit pustakawan (5) Kurikulum pendidikan perpustakaan dan (6) organisasi profesi.
