Presentación de los depósitos institucionales españoles y del uso que hacen de los metadatos. Se examinan los metadatos usados en la descripción de los recursos depositados y se deja constan­cia de las prácticas que pueden afectar la interoperabilidad entre depósitos.

Overview of the institutional repositories of the Spanish universities, and their use of metadata. Metadata used in the description of the deposited resources are examined and the practices that may threaten the semantic interoperability among repositories are pointed out.
