Abstract

This guide evaluates sample resources appropriate for a medium-sized academic library, using Saint Olaf College’s Rølvaag Memorial Library as a model. It suggests one of each of the following resource types: directories, almanacs, yearbooks and handbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and indexes. Resources are evaluated according to currency and frequency, scope, audience, available formats, and inclusion in selection aids or other guides. The guide includes citations for reviews of each resource.
