Abstract

[Spanish abstract]

Se analiza el impacto de la interfaz gráfica web sobre las técnicas de planteamiento de la estrategia de búsqueda de información en las bases de datos tradicionales.
Se estudian las distintas interfaces gráficas que ofrecen diversos proveedores de información (OCLC, Dialog, STN y BookWhere); las diferencias que ofrecen respecto a las interfaces de línea de órdenes; y diversas estrategias que se pueden utilizar para superar algunos problemas.

The impact of web-based graphical user interfaces on search strategies is analysed. Several web-based GUI information providers are considered: OCLC, Dialog, STN and BookWhere. The GUIs are compared against command line interfaces. Some techniques to overcome search problems are studied
