Abstract

[English abstract]

This paper describes the library services based electronic conducted by Information Resource Center (IRC), an Information Center under Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy Jakarta. Also discussed, the history of IRC in Indonesia started by "Traditionally printed library" up to and "Modern and electronic-based library" therefore the librarians who manage the IRC need to adapt the new paradigm of library services.

Tulisan ini bermaksud untuk memaparkan penerapan layanan perpustakaan berbasis elektronik yang telah dilakukan oleh Information Resource Center (IRC), sebuah Pusat Informasi
yang bernaung dibawah Public Affairs Section, Kedutaan Besar Amerika Serikat di Jakarta kepada para pemakainya. Dibahas juga sekilas perjalanan sejarah IRC di Indonesia, dimulai dengan Perpustakaan yang “printed-based” kemudian beralih ke “electronic-based” sehingga diperlukan pula adaptasi dan perubahan pola pikir pustakawan yang menanganinya.
