English abstract

This research proposes artificial intelligence literacy (AIL) guidelines for the development ofinformation professionals’ competencies in academic libraries, based on its convergence withinformation literacy (IL) and digital literacy (DL). The study responds to the absence of astructured framework to guide the critical, ethical, and contextualized adoption of generativeartificial intelligence in the library field. It was developed under the critical-social paradigm, witha mixed-methods approach and a triangulation design. The qualitative component was based on anSLR and content analysis; the quantitative component relied on a survey administered to 92information professionals registered with the National Council of Librarianship. A total of 232operational subcategories were identified, organized into 8 capacities, 50 components, 115 appliedcompetencies, and 59 integrative meta-competencies across seven professional profiles. Likewise,82 factors were identified across the technological, economic, ethical, and social dimensions.Based on this triangulation, 82 AIL guidelines were designed and distributed across the fourdimensions. The study concludes that AIL should not be reduced to the operational mastery oftools, but should instead be constituted as an institutional project aimed at critical training, ethicalgovernance, and the transformative agency of information professionals, in alignment with the realconditions of Colombian academic libraries and their contemporary academic communities.
