English abstract
At the International level, the Strategical Management is applied with great success in the Librarianship, as far as an occupation. The starting point of this Paper is the standpoint that, within the Libraries, the Strategical Management is more understood as a way of thinking rather than a mode for a successful implementation of the Library goals, which importantly restricts the possibility of its action towards the improvement of the social position of these Institutions in their environment.
Serbian abstract
Na međunarodnom planu bibliotekarstvo kao profesija sa uspehom primenjuje strategijski menadžment. Polazište ovoga rada čini stav da se, u samim bibliotekama, strategijski menadžment shvata više kao način razmišljanja nego kao sredstvo za uspešno ostvarivanje ciljeva biblioteke, čime se bitno sužava mogućnost njegovog delovanja na poboljšanje društvenog položaja ovih institucija u okruženju.
