English abstract

Historical approach to the networks and their theoretical study focusing on social networks, in particular their development within the Internet. Then the report focuses in networks and their use by different libraries and finally offer a hypothesis for the future development.

Spanish abstract

Incluye una aproximación histórica a las redes y su estudio teórico para centrar después el foco en las redes sociales y, en concreto, en su desarrollo en el marco de internet. Más adelante se centra todavía más en las redes y su relación con el mundo de las bibliotecas y finaliza ofreciendo una hipótesis de evolución futura.
