English abstract

In the last years, with the increase use of ICT’s for the digitalization, diffusion, and simultaneously, preservation, of the old and patrimonial collections (Bengtson, 2001), an unexpected turn has occurred to the profile of the librarian who works with these collections. This profile follows in period of transition, of a model more static to one more dynamic and changing with surroundings more and more eager to have contact with this type of information and documents. The present work risks a prognosis than it could be in the future (short and medium term), the type of librarian necessary to work with these bottoms, being emphasized the competitions that will have to reunite for being able to organize them and to manage them of way adapted to the aims of the institution guards that them and to the needs of the users to whom it serves.

En los últimos años, con la creciente utilización de las TIC’s para la digitalización, difusión, y a la vez, preservación, de los fondos antiguos y patrimoniales (Bengtson, 2001), se ha dado un giro inesperado al perfil del bibliotecario que trabaja con dichos fondos. Este perfil sigue en período de transición, de un modelo más estático a uno más dinámico y cambiante con un entorno cada vez más ávido de tener contacto con este tipo de información y documentos. El presente trabajo arriesga un pronóstico de lo que podrá ser en el futuro (corto y mediano plazo), el tipo de bibliotecario necesario para trabajar con estos fondos, destacando las competencias que deberá reunir para poder organizarlos y gestionarlos de manera adecuada a los fines de la institución que los custodia y a las necesidades de los usuarios a los que sirve.
