English abstract

As part of library services with the aim of increasing its visibility, this paper outlines the institutional background that prompted the use of network Library Thing. We identify the space and technical problems of accessibility. It defines the goals of the project, setting out the grounds on which it was decided to use this tool and describe and detail their uses. Finally, we analyze the impact that implementation of this project generates and outlines future plans both short and long term.

Spanish abstract

Como parte de los servicios de la biblioteca y con el objetivo de aumentar su visibilidad, en esta ponencia se señalan los antecedentes institucionales que impulsaron el uso de la red social Library Thing. Se identifican los inconvenientes espaciales y técnicos de accesibilidad. Se definen los objetivos del proyecto, se exponen los motivos por los cuales se decide la utilización de esta herramienta y se describen y detallan sus utilidades. Por último, se analiza el impacto que la implementación de este proyecto genera y se perfilan los planes a futuro tanto a corto como a largo plazo.
