English abstract

User studies has been developed on the evaluation of digital libraries, assessing different aspects of the product, especially the usability of the user interface. This work extents the field of evaluation processes on the creation and development of the digital collection, using a model based on user-centered techniques. The proposed model is tested on the digital library software tool Greenstone.

Spanish abstract

La evaluación de bibliotecas digitales se ha desarrollado sobre estudios de usuario, que valoran diferentes aspectos del producto, en especial la usabilidad de la interfaz de usuario. Este trabajo amplía el campo de evaluación a los procesos de creación y desarrollo de la colección digital, mediante un modelo basado en técnicas centradas en el usuario. Para la validación del modelo propuesto se somete a prueba la herramienta Greenstone.
