English abstract

The article has considered the first librarian coalition founding in Bulgaria. It is presented the international foundation “Electronic Information for Libraries” (eIFL.net – www.eifl.net) and its role for the Bulgarian libraries cooperation establishment. The author has shared main facts of the Bulgarian Information Consortium (BIC- www.bic.bg) founders, mission and goals. The BIC’s activities have been described through four main programs: Public Relations and Fundraising, Electronic Resources and Training, WEB Site and Cooperative Subscription. The BIC’s achievements have been summarized.
