English abstract
This article brings into question the silence kept by the world Library Science community in front of the controversial and notorious speech «Regeln für den Menschenpark» delivered by German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk in 1999, even after more than a decade has passed from its publication and in spite of the enormous rele-vance it entails for that community. It is also suggested that this silence is linked with various issues ranging from the addiction that both Library Science and the History of Reading have to the fundamentals of Humanism —which Sloterdijk’s text fatally wounds— to the need of adopting the increasingly posthumanist discourse of power for reasons of professional survival in the communitarian as well as in the individual level.
