English abstract

The emergence and development of new information and communication technologies have led to major changes in the organization of the knowledge universe. As the new data storage media has diversified, the librarian, information specialist, has had to adapt to the current context. This paper aims to highlight the librarian's abilities and role in the digital age, in defining and satisfying the needs of information users.

Apariția şi dezvoltarea noilor tehnologii de informare şi comunicare au determinat schimbări majore în organizarea universului cunoaşterii. Întrucât noii suporți de stocare a datelor s-au diversificat, bibliotecarul, specialist al informațiilor, a trebuit să se adapteze actualului context. Prezenta lucrare îşi propune să evidențieze abilitățile şi rolul bibliotecarului în era digitală, în definirea şi satisfacerea nevoilor utilizatorilor de informare.
