English abstract

The conceptual structure of the journal El Profesional de la Información (EPI) is analyzed in 2013-2018, through the evaluation of the publications corresponding to this period with the science map software SciMAT. The scientific maps developed with SciMAT allow to visualize in a clear way the structure of a journal, delimiting the areas of research and time, capturing its conceptual and cognitive structure. As a result we obtain a set of groups of keywords and their interconnections, called themes, which are classified into four categories: Motor, peripheral, emerging or declining and basic or transversal topics. The main topics of the EPI journal in 2013-2018 are shown, grouped by the indicated categories, as well as their interconnections.

Spanish abstract

Se analiza la estructura conceptual de la revista El Profesional de la Información (EPI) en 2013-2018, a través de la evaluación de las publicaciones correspondientes a este periodo con el software de mapas de la ciencia SciMAT. Los mapas científicos desarrollados con SciMAT permiten visualizar de forma clara la estructura de una revista, delimitando las áreas de investigación y el tiempo, capturando su estructura conceptual y cognitiva. Como resultado se obtienen un conjunto de grupos de palabras clave y sus interconexiones, denominados temas, que se clasifican en cuatro categorías: Temas motor, periféricos, emergentes o en declive y básicos o transversales. Se muestran los principales temas de la revista EPI en 2013-2018, agrupados por las categorías señaladas, así como sus interconexiones.
