English abstract

Given the wide range of challenges that are framed in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (document issued by the United Nations in 2015), the libraries of each country have the mission of supporting the improvement and well-being of their communities through actions that ensure equal access to documentary information (also information systems such as archives, museums, repositories) These systems must be constituted as networks that allow the integration of the various sectors that make up a society, through the incorporation of digital technologies to increase the management capacity of information flows. The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) has the Information System of the Sustainable Development Goals - platform operated in conjunction with the Coordination of the National Digital Strategy -, which makes available to its users the information on the progress in the follow-up to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Although this tool is also relevant for the indicators it offers, another way of verifying these advances is to approach some of our library centers, quantum if we consider that in Mexico we have the first sustainable library in Latin America, located in Tepoztlán, Morelos In the present interview, a pleasant conversation was held with one of the librarians of this entity, who, needless to say, is a young professional graduated from the Library School of UNAM: B.A. Juan Manuel Vilchis Martínez.

Ante el amplio abanico de retos que se enmarcan en la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible (documento emitido por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas en 2015), las bibliotecas de cada país —entre otros sistemas de información documental como archivos, museos, repositorios— tienen la misión de apoyar la mejora y bienestar de sus comunidades mediante acciones que permitan asegurar el acceso equitativo a la información documental. Estos sistemas deben constituirse como redes que permitan la integración de los diversos sectores que integran una sociedad, a través de la incorporación de tecnologías digitales para incrementar la capacidad de gestión de los flujos de información. El Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) cuenta con el Sistema de Información de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible —plataforma operada en conjunto con la Coordinación de la Estrategia Digital Nacional—, la cual pone a disposición de sus usuarios la información de los avances en el seguimiento de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. Si bien esta herramienta es por demás relevante por los indicadores que ofrece, otra forma de constatar estos avances es acercarse a algunos de nuestros centros bibliotecarios, cuantimás si se considera que en México contamos con la primera biblioteca sostenible en América Latina, ubicada en Tepoztlán, Morelos. En la presente entrevista, se sostuvo una amena conversación con uno de los bibliotecarios de esta entidad, quién, huelga decirlo, es un joven profesionista egresado del Colegio de Bibliotecología: el Lic. Juan Manuel Vilchis Martínez.
