English abstract

Learning management systems are redefining the meaning of higher education. Its development has allowed reproducing the experience of learning without having to go to the classroom. So that the digital library doesn't lose visibility to the college community, it must be actively integrated into the distance educational projects. This conference describes a digital reference service for searching textual learning objects, whose direct users are the teachers. The selected objects are included in the subjects’ bibliographies, which are later accessed by the students from the learning management system. To do so, the reference service must select relevant documents in coordination with the teachers, and provide digital access, observing copyright. Furthermore, as one of the attributes of learning objects is reutilization, their metadata must be described in order to retrieve them later for other subjects. This process will avoid duplication of effort and add value to the found objects.

Las plataformas de educación a distancia están redefiniendo el significado de la enseñanza en la universidad. Su desarrollo ha permitido simular la experiencia de aprender sin necesidad de asistir al aula. Para que la biblioteca digital no pierda visibilidad ante la comunidad educativa, se necesita integrarla activamente en los proyectos educativos a distancia. Este trabajo plantea un servicio de referencia digital dedicado a la búsqueda de objetos de aprendizaje de tipo textual, cuyos usuarios directos son los profesores. Los objetos seleccionados forman parte de la bibliografía obligatoria de las materias, a la cual acceden posteriormente los alumnos desde la plataforma de educación a distancia. Para ello, el servicio de referencia debe seleccionar los documentos relevantes en coordinación con los docentes y proporcionar su acceso en soporte digital, observando los derechos de autor. Además, en tanto uno de los atributos de los objetos de aprendizaje es la reutilización, se deben describir sus metadatos, de forma tal que puedan ser recuperados posteriormente para incorporarlos en otras materias. Esto evitará la duplicación de esfuerzos y agregará valor a los objetos encontrados.
