After being burnt during the war, The National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina nneds to find new ways of identifying resources containing data necessary for reconstruction of its funds under the common name Bosniaca. Having no ambition to offer all answers related to this item, the main goal of this researching is to find possibility to locate Bosniaca onto available World Wide Web online public access catalogues all over the world - all five continents, with the aim to find out the possibility how to provide the complete future reconstruction. All consumers of the net have the opportunity to search not only catalogues but also informative resources of various kinds and forms. Therefore, the survey of informative systems development, from the very beginings in sixties to the global net called Internet now in 1997, seemed to be appropriate for all users. The way how this global net operates, as well as protocols on which it is based on are pointed out, too. The basic facts of the phenomenon called World Wide Web is also presented, as well as the language of the Web documents - HTML.
