English abstract

How do you make the most of your limited library budget when journal subscription costs are soaring? Although adding open access (OA) journals is one solution, identifying and evaluating what is available can be incredibly challenging. I have identified more than a hundred open access Catholic journals; these are journals of religion and/or theology published by Catholic institutions and/or containing primarily Catholic content. I will break the journals down by language, geography, subject, etc., and highlight some of the better and more interesting titles. Catholics might not be leaders in open access journal publishing, but they are making a real impact.
