English abstract

In an era of technological changes such as the present one, decision making by the librarian concerning materials provided for the users is a difficult task. This article emphasises that the library must help the user make effective use of new technologies by providing information in different formats – printed, audio, video, electronic. To this end, users' individual learning styles and user surveys' results must be taken into account. En una era de cambios tecnológicos como la actual, la toma de decisiones por parte del bibliotecario sobre el material que debe ofrecer a sus usuarios es una tarea muy difícil. Este artículo resalta que la biblioteca debe ayudar al usuario a hacer uso de las nuevas tecnologías, ofreciéndole información en diversos formatos (impreso, audio, vídeo, electrónico). Para ello, se le debe prestar atención a los métodos de aprendizaje de los usuarios y a los resultados obtenidos de los estudios de usuarios.
