English abstract
Collecting, processing, preserving and giving to usage of books and other library materials, all those activities that define the librarianship, at the very first sight refer to this discipline as firmly fixed on formal principles. In the first place, each of those mentioned activities refer to a setup of precisely defined operations, with a task to organize adequately the unit of materials and to make it available to users. However, the work with the user, individual as well in group, differs as a segment which creativity can be discuss. Regarding the fact that various needs of the user always bring out new tasks in front of the librarian, and for some needs we cannot reply by simply renting the book or by giving information, and the fact that most of the librarians are working with pleasure for and with their users, we have to say that most of the librarians are doing much more for their users with their own inventivity within the formal base of their job.

Sakupljanje, obrađivanje, čuvanje i davanje na korišćenje knjiga i druge biblioteč ke građe, delatnosti koje definišu bibliotekarstvo, već na prvi pogled upućuju na ovu disciplinu kao čvrsto utemeljenu na formalnim principima. Svaki od navedenih poslova u prvom redu upućuje na skup precizno utvrđenih radnji, čiji je zadatak da jedinicu građe adekvatno organizuje i stavi na raspolaganje zainteresovanima. Ipak, rad sa korisnikom, individualni kao i grupni, izdvaja se kao segment o čijoj se kreativnosti može raspravljati. S obzirom na činjenicu da raznovrsne potrebe korisnika uvek iznova pred bibliotekara stavljaju nove zadatke na koje se ne može uvek odgovoriti jednostavnim izdavanjem knjige ili davanjem informacije i da većina bibliotekara sa uživanjem radi za svoje korisnike, većina njih često vlastitom invencijom za svoje klijente čini više od onoga što čini formalnu osnovu njihovog posla.
