English abstract

It is necessary that individuals in Information Society should use information intensively. In order to deal with the realities of Information Society individuals need to become information literates who mean having acquired the skills to access and use information from a variety of sources effectively. Educational institutions have the primary responsibility for providing the students with these skills. In this regard universities have responsible to equip students with the information and skills required.

Turkish abstract

Bilgi toplumunda, bireylerin bilgi tüketicileri olmaları gerekmektedir. Çok çesitli kaynaklardan bilgiye ulasma ve bu bilgiyi etkin kullanma becerileri olarak tanımlanan bilgi okuryazarlıgı, bilgi tüketimi için temel becerilerdir. Bu becerilerin kazandırılmasında öncelikli sorumluluk egitim kurumlarınındır. Ögrencilerine çagın gerektirdigi bilgi, beceri ve davranısları kazandırmakla yükümlü üniversitelerin de bu anlamda sorumlulukları vardır.
