English abstract

The present paper continues with the bibliometric analysis of Revista de Investigaciones Agropecuarias. For that purpose, it is analysed a total of 90 contributions, appeared in 14 numbers and their 1336 references, published in the period comprehended between 1964-1979, with an average of 14.85 cites per work , and a rank between 87 and 3 respectively. The mean productivity of the magazine is 6.43 numbers/year with a rank comprehended between 1 and 21. In order to determinate authors´s behavior patttern: use of documental source, descriptors and languages´s prevalence, coauthors, colaboration´s groups, annual obsolescence and productivy, different index and bibliometric techniques were applied. Among the papers it predominated English (the most consulted language) with 75.97%, the Spanish with a 18.64% and in less proportion French, German and others with a 5.39. Periodicals was the documentary source most used with a 74.70%, second was monographies with a 18.94%, and finally contributions to congresses with a 6.36%. With respect to citations, the highest frequency corresponds to seventies (813 citations) and the sixties (523 citations). The most treated subjects are: Bovines (21.47%), Feeding (8.90), Pastures (7.85%), Rodents (6.81%) and Pigs (4.71), all of which matches INTA’s goals. All this subjects sum up 49.74% of the distribution. The index of coauthorship reaches 2.76 per article. The mean life is 8.39 years, the utility 7%, and the index of Price 0.78356 (26.77%.). The core of periodicals comprises 7 titles: Journal of Animal Science, RIA, Journal of Nutrition, Journal of Dairy Science., Journal of Agricultural Science, Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, and Journal of Biological Chemistry. The most productive authors are: Massoia, E. (8.75), Giraudo, C.G. (5.08), Marchi, A. (5.08), Cercos, A.P. (5), Cairnie, A.G. (3,5) y García, Pilar T. (3,08).

Spanish abstract

El presente trabajo continúa con el análisis bibliométrico de la Revista de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (RIA). A tal efecto, se analizaron un total de 90 aportes aparecidos en 14 volúmenes y sus 1336 referencias, publicadas durante el período 1964-1979, con un promedio de 14.85 citas por trabajo, con un rango de 87 de máximo y 3 de mínimo. La productividad promedio de la revista es de 6.43 números por año, con un rango que oscila entre 1 y 21 respectivamente. Se aplicaron diferentes índices y técnicas bibliométricas para determinar pautas de conducta de los autores: fuentes documentales utilizadas, idiomas consultados, coautoría, prevalencia de descriptores, grupos de colaboración, productividad, obsolescencia de la información, vida media, utilidad, índice de Price. En los trabajos predominó el inglés como idioma más consultado (75.97%), luego el castellano (18.64%), y en menor proporción el francés, alemán y otros (5,39%). La fuente documental más consultada es la publicación periódica (74.70%), la monografía (18.94%) y finalmente los trabajos presentados en Congresos (6,36%). Respecto a la bibliografía consultada, la frecuencia es mayor en la década del 70 (813 referencias) contra la del 60 (523 referencias). Se observa que los temas más abordados fueron: Bovinos (21.47%), Alimentación (8.90%), Pasturas (7.85%), Roedores (6.81%), y Cerdos (4.71%), que coinciden con los objetivos institucionales del INTA. Todos estas temas totalizan el 49.74% de la distribución. El índice de coautoría es de 2.76 autores por artículo. La vida media es de 8.39 años, la utilidad es de 0.93 y el índice de Price 0.78356 que alcanza el 26.77%. El núcleo de publicaciones periódicas abarca 7 revistas: Journal of Animal Science, RIA, Journal of Nutrition, Journal of Dairy Science., Journal of Agricultural Science, Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, and Journal of Biological Chemistry, que totalizan el 35.77% de la distribución. En cuanto a los autores más productivos los mismos son: Massoia, E. (8.75), Giraudo, C.G. (5.08), Marchi, A. (5.08), Cercos, A.P. (5), Cairnie, A.G. (3,5) y García, Pilar T. (3,08).
